Plitvice Lakes National Park

Here it is, the grande finale, the cherry-on-top, the big enchilada… Plitvice Lakes National Park!

I had been day-dreaming about this park since I knew of it’s existence. When we began to mull-over the thought of traveling to Croatia, I knew the only way I would make the trip was if we were able to squeeze this in. I had never seen anything quite like it, and now having been there I can confidently say, the journey was worth it. Even with terrible morning sickness, even in the rain… I’ll let the pictures tell it’s story.

Getting started, and first looks.

The colors were unreal.

Beckett suggested this little excursion off the beaten path.

You can literally walk around this park all day, it is massive. Come prepared… walking shoes, snacks, water, cash, PONCHOS (because the park will sell out of them before you get a chance to buy one). Insert rain! Yes, the only rain of our entire trip! And it really came down. Haha!

There is no way I could capture how absolutely beautiful this park truly was, these pictures are only a taste of what was there.

We stayed within walking distance of the park’s entrance #3 at Ethno Houses Plitvica Selo. The draw when I booked it was it’s promise of a petting zoo, and our little animal-lover was not disappointed. Also, an obstacle course… brilliant! Needless to say, if you’re looking for a family-friendly place to stay, look no further.

It took me 10 months to get this trip up in it’s entirety. I’ll chalk it up to a ridiculous amount of really great pictures and a lot of life happening this year. I hope you enjoyed this journey to Croatia, and if you ever get an opportunity to go, please share your experience with me!
