Seattle Views from the Space Needle

I have always said that on a bright, sunny day, Seattle, is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. I just love all the water! That water also makes for some of the most, horrendous traffic I’ve ever seen. But on a perfect day, the silver lining of the pain-staking, slow commute is the view, and it doesn’t disappoint. Not even from the freeway.
Grandma was visiting for the first time in nearly a decade from Minnesota and I wanted to do something with her that would be picture-worthy, quintessential Seattle. I decided on lunch at the Space Needle and we got that “perfect day” treat. I love the flexibility of “my job” that allows me the freedom to visit on a weekday, which means an al-a-carte menu and reservation availability within 24 hours at Skycity Restaurant. It’s such an enjoyable experience all the way around (literally 360 degrees!). A unique view, indoors (or covered outside), reasonable parking and good food.
Thankfully my mom called and reminded me that Grandma’s 80th birthday was the following day, so dessert was in order. Hello, Lunar Orbiter! We enjoyed ours with Mountain Huckleberry and chocolate ice cream, yum!
And, the fall colors were showing off for one of the last clear days of the season. Perfection!
